My bathroom is still not finished but I have hopes for completion before Christmas. What about growing up against a wall like a climbing rose? The plumtree is a bit different...it simply hasn't got space enough where it grows, the wall on one side and the fence on the other side means there is nowhere for me to walk when the branches are grown out fully, that's why I pruned off all the lower branches. So I have to force it to grow only UP and not OUT. I hope the tree is listening :-)HELENEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16112289914239038835noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6265213687739263373.post-15784036335328755212017-12-01T01:26:27.159+00:002017-12-01T01:26:27.159+00:00You're welcome! You're welcome!HELENEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16112289914239038835noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6265213687739263373.post-86493209090146297812017-12-01T01:25:58.459+00:002017-12-01T01:25:58.459+00:00Thanks Endah. Thanks Endah.HELENEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16112289914239038835noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6265213687739263373.post-66183085465386245662017-12-01T01:25:44.800+00:002017-12-01T01:25:44.800+00:00Hello Guido, I am very late replying - but yes, it...Hello Guido, I am very late replying - but yes, it was a big shock to see the tree gone as no one had told us anything - we are 8 residents living in a small area next to the community centre - and no one thought of telling us obviously.<br />I still miss 'my' tree.HELENEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16112289914239038835noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6265213687739263373.post-91527491529277539762017-12-01T01:23:02.528+00:002017-12-01T01:23:02.528+00:00Hello Beth, I am finally catching up with some com...Hello Beth, I am finally catching up with some comments that has been unanswered for far too long. But in answer to your question, all camellias are hardy here in UK and can grow in the ground or in containers outdoors. They need no protection and don't need to be taken indoors or in a greenhouse. Even if we have frost they will be OK as we rarely have any hard frost. Any open flowers will be ruined but buds and the plant will be fine. We seldom have frost here in London so I don't worry about the few flowers that might be ruined. There are more camellia pictures and a new video out today from my garden :-)HELENEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16112289914239038835noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6265213687739263373.post-22982962779140415652017-12-01T01:04:21.223+00:002017-12-01T01:04:21.223+00:00Hei Maribel, det ble lunsj på kjøkkenet - med utsi...Hei Maribel, det ble lunsj på kjøkkenet - med utsikt til hagen på dagen min. I do hope the garden will adjust OK. We've had record heat (32C-33C for about a week, and now 27C for a couple of days) here in the northern U.S., and in my area a late-season drought. But the forecast is looking more autumnal. This may be the first year I'm looking forward to cooler weather. I envy you the Camellias--our winters are too severe for them, although I'm sure they'd like our hot summers. I tried to grow a potted one once, but no luck. It seems like our gardens here are starting to go into fall mode earlier than usual, after a cooler start to spring temperatures and some off shore winds from the passing hurricanes.
